About Ccaretta and its creators M&K Cook.
Ccaretta was started with the vision of creating a simple website that could be a resource for sea turtle references and knowledge. My zoological passion is sea turtle research and conservation, which was transformed from dream to reality during a sea turtle summer internship in Sarasota, Florida. Thus far, I have completed my bachelor degree in zoology at the University of Tasmania, but I am unable to continue my education, even though I want to pursue honours and PhD projects, because I am a US citizen living in Australia and do not yet have permanent resident benefits to make tuition more affordable. Unfortunately, because I do not have permanent resident status (2 year waiting period) finding a job in zoology is challenging, especially in the small city of Hobart, Tasmania. So while my husband and I wait for my permanent residency, I will be working to make this website packed full of sea turtle and scientific information, which will also help me to learn more about sea turtles as well as managing and designing a website. My husband is my greatest source of support and motivation, and he is always encouraging my love of sea turtles and sea turtle projects. I appreciate and love him very much - Thanks Snoolie!
